It has been found in human epidermis and bladder tissue and has been detected in a variety of biological fluids such as urine and blood. Within cells, it is primarily located in the cytoplasm. It is present in all eukaryotes from yeast to humans. 3-Hydroxyanthranilic acid has antioxidant activity.
